It is Fostering Hopes Foundation’s dream to take care of vulnerable families so that children can remain with their family members and grow up in a positive environment. Last week, our team embarked on a heart-wrenching visit to Burutu, Bomadi, and Patani—where many families struggle day by day to survive.
Witnessing Struggles Firsthand
We met families on our visit who were facing huge challenges—parents struggling just to make ends meet, children out of school, and entire families living in squalid conditions. They are rich, strong cultures, but economic hardship tends to undermine family unity and health. Listening to them speak was both a humbling and illuminating experience. It reminded us of the importance of our efforts in preserving the family.
How Fostering Hopes Foundation Plans to Help
In our ongoing efforts to support these communities, we are considering how we can provide direct aid, including:
Basic Needs Assistance – Providing food, clothing, and hygiene products to struggling families.
Education Support – Giving children the resources they need to stay in school and succeed.
Economic Empowerment – Researching sustainable livelihood initiatives to allow parents to earn an income and provide for their families.
Advocacy and Awareness – Collaborating with local leaders and organizations to instate long-term family preservation measures.
A Call to Action
Seeing these struggles up close has fueled our passion to do more. However, we cannot do it alone. We need partners, donors, and volunteers who share our cause for keeping families intact.
