Each Step Brings Families Closer

Poverty in most parts of Nigeria compels parents to take the painful step of sending their children away to seek greener pastures. Unfortunately, instead of a brighter tomorrow, some of these children are subjected to abuse, neglect, and exploitation. Families are disrupted, and children are made vulnerable with no assurance of protection and education.

At Fostering Hopes Foundation, we don’t think any child should ever have to leave their family because of poverty. Since inception in 2024, we’ve been able to assist six families and 19 children with financial aid, education, and sustainable help to keep families intact.

This is why we are initiating the 60km Walkathon for Child Protection and Family Preservation—a call to action for creating awareness, raising resources, and speaking for children who stand at the threshold of separation.
And we want YOU to be a part of the ride!

Why We Walk
  • For children at risk of family separation, we walk.
  • For parents striving to provide, we take each step.
  • Raising awareness of child separation and exploitation is our mission.
  • Advocating for family preservation policies keeps us moving forward.

The 60km Walkathon isn’t only a fundraising event – it’s a movement to make things right and provide every child the opportunity to grow up in a safe, loving, and stable home.

Regardless of whether you walk, donate, or volunteer, your participation gives hope to the families who are in need.

Why This Matters
  • Child separation is avoidable. Poverty should never be the rationale for removing a child from their parents.
  • Awareness leads to action. In walking, we are saying to the world that children should be in families—not institutions, not forced labor, not on the streets.
  • Each step makes a difference. Proceeds will go to low-income families who are facing separation, providing them with a financial hand up, education, and long-term resolution.
Be the Change – Partner With Us!

This is your opportunity to make a tangible impact on the lives of Nigerian children and families. The 60km Walkathon for Child Protection and Family Preservation is a bold statement—one which says no child should ever have to be sent away from home because of poverty.
